Natural Remedies to Acne Scarring - Written by M.Hart
I'm sure for most of you who have ever experienced acne, you have at least once had those red marks left as an after affect. Unfortunately these could take months upon years to fade. Lucky for most of us, there are tons of different remedies and most of them you can do with just a few ingredients, that I'm sure most of you have at home!
1. Cucumber Patches
The first remedy we have is good for inflammation and reducing the appearance of redness. All you need is one cucumber. Slice your cucumber into tiny circles and place them on clean skin for 15-30 minutes. Rinse skin with cool water. You might need to lay down while doing this treatment, since the cucumber can slide off your skin. You may repeat this process everyday for as long as you need!
2. Vitamin E Spot Treatment
Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant and collagen repairer. By applying Vitamin E to the surface of the skin, it can help rebuild the surface area, and protect your skin against free radicals - which damage the skin's collagen reproduction and dry out your skin.
Take a Vitamin E capsule (which you can purchase at your local drugstore) and break open. Then dot onto cleansed skin in your affected areas. Leave overnight and repeat daily for as long as you need.
3. Lemon Juice and Aloe Vera Serum
Lemon juice contains citric acid and Vitamin C. These ingredients help produce collagen and brighten the skin. The citric acid also exfoliates the surface of the skin, removing the dead skin cells as well as it is antibacterial, so it will help reduce active acne. The Aloe Vera - which can be a bit of a tough ingredient to find - is a natural skin soother and moisturizer. Aloe Vera is also anti-inflammatory and reduces the appearance of redness.
Mix 1 TBS. of Fresh Lemon Juice and 2 TBS. of Aloe Vera in a plastic bowl. You should get a liquidy consistency. Apply after you've washed your face. Wait at least 10 minutes for it fully soak in. You may follow up with the rest of your skincare routine or rinse off after 30 minutes to a few hours.
Repeat a few times a week. Don't do this treatment daily as the citric acid can be damaging in the long run.
4. Rosewater Toner
Rosewater is antioxidant, brightening, nourishing and hydrating. It's very good for people with ultra sensitive skin or dry skin, because it'll hydrate and balance but still treat acne without stripping your skin. Some believe rosewater protects against sun exposure and prevents wrinkles. Although this theory is still being tested.
You want to make sure your rosewater is 100% pure and organic. And you're ready! Apply it straight to a cotton ball or cotton pad then rub onto the skin after cleansing. You may also mix with a few tablespoons of water to thin out the product.
You may apply daily for as long as you like!
I hope these remedies work for you all. Most of these won't work overnight, but just keep trying and you should see results within a few weeks. Good luck.
