Hi everyone! I just want to talk about my experience on Proactive during my recent breakout. To make a long story short, I have always had the occasional pimple/blemish marks on my face. I would always get them around my period. Throughout my high school years I was never really taught how to properly take care of my skin. I would just wash it with a random face cleanser and then go to bed.
It wasn’t until I was a sophomore in high school when my mom had bought me the proactive starter kit. I was so excited because I had seen all the before and after pictures on the commercials so I couldn’t wait for my skin to be all clear and shiny just like the people in the pictures. I remember when I first started the kit, the process was so complex.
There were three steps. A cleanser, then a liquid you put on a cotton ball and apply to your skin, and then a moisturizing treatment. Also, in between each step you had to wait a certain amount of time which was frustrating. I was never in the mood to go through such a long process every day, twice a day, but I really wanted clear skin so I just sucked it up.
Being on proactive, my skin was always so dry and seemed like it was always peeling. It would be so difficult to put makeup on over it because the make-up would always just look so flaky and unnatural. I was on Proactive for over a year and never really saw any changes while being on this product. I think I was just always sticking to that product because I never really got introduced to any other facial products so I just thought I would stick with this one.
For the amount of money I paid for Proactive, I would say I did not see the results I expected to see. I would not buy this product again. I have been purchasing products for cheaper than what Proactive cost me that I have seen better results with. Have you guys tried proactive? Did it help your breakouts?
