Having acne/acne scars can definitely bring your self-esteem down and all you want to do is hide your face behind make-up; almost every girl can relate on that one. However, what you put your face can either 'make it or break it', so be wise with the products you use!
A lot of beauty companies have started making acne-prone-friendly foundations that are not too heavy, and oily on the skin to irritate it any further. The only problem with that is that sometimes the coverage is faint, and the make up appears cakey.
I started using the Bare Minerals SPF 15 foundation and I love it! It creates a flawless, non-cakey look, and so far it seems like it does not break me out. The one major problem I have with foundations is that my skin becomes quite oily after about an hour, but with this one I do not experience that; I still have to touch up here and there, but since it does what it is supposed to without breaking me out, it does not matter. As far as the price range is concerned, I bought mine from Sephora for about $30.
Another one I really enjoy is the Hello Flawless liquid foundation by Benefit. This one is not too heavy, and will not give you full coverage (the only one I have found that does give me full coverage is by MAC, but sadly those are heavy on my skin). However, an awesome thing about this foundation is that it has Vitamin C in it, but since it tends to get a bit oily, I use it along with my Bare Minerals foundations as a setting powder. The price of this one was a bit on the pricey side, but it all depends on how much you use, and the quality of the product. All in all, I paid close to $35 for this one.
Nonetheless, always keep in mind that it is NEVER wise to sleep with make-up on. Your pores will clog up and all the pimples will appear - sometimes the very next day too. Always get rid of your make-up before bed, and I have found that using a cleansing brush helps me get rid of it even better. All in all, I love both products and I hope you do too!
