The Bad Thoughts Associated With Acne

What I have learned over the last 18 months is that acne isn’t really the cause of my problems, rather the way I think about it is. That is, whether I stare at myself in the mirror for fifteen minutes at different light angles, hoping that they won’t look so bad, or whether I just avoid looking in the mirror and get on with the day (I recommend doing the latter).

I have also realised how psychologically debilitating acne is: the feeling of dread every morning as you contemplate that day - walking downstairs and having to face your parents, trying to make eye contact in passing with people at school, and making how bad your skin is the basis on whether or not you accept an invitation to a party.
