banish primer for oily skin

Before putting on any foundation or makeup on your face you’ll want to start with a good primer. For oily skin, it’s a challenge to find a way to keep the makeup from running off your face! That’s why primer for oily skin is so important.

Priming also helps with minimizing the amount of makeup that transfers off your skin to other things such as clothing.A primer is a formula that acts as a protective barrier between your skin and your foundation. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and acne scars, fills in the tiny crevices of your face, smooths out the appearance of your skin, and helps your make up set and stay longer throughout the day.

Primer for oily skin help keep the shine in check all day and minimize the appearance of pores, it can also help any makeup you put on afterward last way longer.

Here are a few thoughts on some primer for oily skin I’ve used:

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer

This has to be one of my favorite primers! Although it is not the strongest in oil control, it’s still a recommendable product. It’s useful for any skin type. It “blurs” out your pores, creating the perfect canvas for your makeup. Since it blocks out your pores, it also helps a bit with the oil on the skin. It ends up leaving a nice, smooth finish after applying. It’s completely affordable and actually works well. It’s for all skin tones and applies clearly with no bad fragrance left behind.

Benefit Porefessional Primer

This primer works exactly or almost just like the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer. The only downside is that it’s more expensive. It still works just as well but has a bit of a lighter feel to it while the Baby Skin feels a bit heavier or thicker. With all that said, the Benefit Professional doesn’t hold a bad fragrance and applies clearly on any skin tone.

Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector

Although this product is on the pricey side, it also works like a charm! It gives a silicone like gel product. It sticks right onto your face! Your foundation will stick on and last for hours with no problem at all. The only downside would be that not every foundation would pair well with this primer. Since the primer is so stuck onto the face and dry, you can’t exactly spread your makeup around with a brush. You’d most likely have to pat it on around your face to get an even look. Putting all of that to the side, this product really works well for oil control and a matte finished makeup look.

Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer

This product is also on the pricey side! This product has a gel like substance. It applies clear on any skin with no strong fragrance. It doesn’t do so much for oil control, but it allows your foundation and makeup to be applied with extreme ease.

Mac Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage

This is an ultra-fluid lotion with special-effect silicones. It just blots excess oil effectively and evens out redness in your skin. It also calms and soothes the skin and most would agree it does not cause breakouts. This primer also lasts longer and maintains an even finish even as time goes by. You only need a small amount and has a very hygienic packaging - comes with a pump!
