I’ve been dealing with acne since my freshman year of high school. The only acne I really had was on my chin, and was nothing major. Even though I didn’t have a lot of acne or scarring, I still felt insecure about it. The most obvious solution to feel better about my acne was to use makeup, but my parents didn’t allow me to wear makeup. So fast-forward to senior year when i first began wearing makeup, which was just some foundation to cover up my scarring.
A few months into my senior year I started to get acne on my right cheek. Now this was extremely weird for me because the only acne I had ever gotten was on my chin. My immediate thought was that it was the foundation that I was using that was causing the acne. I soon realized that it was the way I was taking care of my skin.
Looking back at it now, I don’t know why I did this, but I would fall asleep with my makeup on. I didn’t see anything wrong with it, I figured if I had been wearing it all day then falling asleep in it would do no harm. I would was the makeup off when I would take a shower in the morning, and then apply more after I was done. The acne on my cheek soon became scarring, so I researched some ways to get rid of it.
The first thing I did was start removing my makeup after I got home from school. The second thing I did was start using Aztec Healing Clay. I read that this was the easiest way to get rid of the scarring. So I tried it and it made my skin extremely soft. But what I didn’t know was that it took all of the nasty stuff from under your skin and brought it to the surface, so my entire face started breaking out.
All of this acne just absolutely terrified me. I read up on the Aztec Healing Clay and saw that it was something that you had to continue using and it would eventually get rid of the scarring. As I continued to use it I saw absolutely no difference in my skin. After I stopped using the Aztec Healing Clay, I began using coconut oil to fade the scarring and have seen a little difference in my skin.
