At home remedies for acne scarring are something that I’ve searched the internet high and low for since I started getting acne. Other than Coconut Oil, another remedy that I found useful was a Turmeric Mask.
Now, I was a little skeptical about using another face mask because of my previous experience with the Aztec Healing Clay mask, but this was a totally different and awesome experience.
I read online that you can mix it with lemon, so I did that and mixed it till it was like a pasty consistency. I did not put it all over my face, just the areas with scarring, and let it sit for about 15 minutes. After that, I washed it off with some warm water. I was a little surprised because after I washed it off, it stained my face yellow, so since I did not want a yellow face, I just used some face wash, and it made a little difference.
The next time I made the mask, I decided to mix it with some honey and lemon. This one actually worked better then the first one. I noticed some of the scarring on my chin had faded away. The scars on my chin are the ones that had been there the longest, and I was surprised that such old scars were able to fade away.
Turmeric does stain a lot, which I learned the hard way. One night I put the mask on pretty late, and I fell asleep. I woke up the next morning and my face and some of my bed spread and pillows were all yellow! It was so terrible, so now I know not to put on the mask so late at night.
Over all, the Turmeric face mask is a really great home remedy. You do need to measure out how much Turmeric and whatever you decide to mix it with so that you do not end up with a bunch of extra.
One thing that I do not like about the face mask is how dry it feels, but the pros of this face mask far outnumber the cons.
The Turmeric mask is something that I did not think would work as well as it did and I’m extremely happy that I decided to try it out because, it’s super easy to make and does help out with the scarring that I struggle with.
