You need to drink between 1.5 and 2L of water per day. For us girls that are accustomed to drinking very little water in a day, this may seem like an impossible task to achieve. Here I will present your various tips and tricks to be able to drink a lot more water daily while hardly noticing.
1. Get a water bottle of a transportable size.
Buy a bottle that is small enough to carry it in your bag/purse every time you go out, but big enough to contain water for the amount of tome they you won’t be near a water fountain to replenish it. The ideal capacity is between 500ml and 1L. If you store more than a liter of water, it will not only be heavy to carry around, but it may also taste funny after a while.
2. A big bottle at home.
If you are likely to stay at home most of the day, you can get a big 2L bottle and fill it with cold water. 3. Flavor it.
If you are one of those people who doesn't like the taste of plain water and you find it hard to drink it alone, get a low-calorie additive that adds taste to the water without making it too unhealthy. You can also try out sparkling water, which is admittedly more expensive, but much more fun to drink as well.
4. Get into the habit.
Create a habit of drinking water every time that you eat something. It doesn’t have to be a lot of water, but if you take a sip every time that you eat, at the end of the day it will all add up.
5. Opt for watery foods.
Don’t forget that many fruits and vegetables are filled with water (watermelon, tomatoes, cucumbers, grapes, etc.) so stack your diet with watery foods and you will stay hydrated without directly drinking water.
6. Natural flavors.
To add flavor to the water without having to buy an additive, cut up a lemon or an orange and put it in your water bottle. You can also add some fresh mint cut up in pieces along with the fruit.
If you like one or many of these tips, then start incorporating it into your routine and keep it up for at least 30 days. If you do that, it is very possible that you will continue to do it in the long term and get the maximum benefits from water.
