DIY Natural Face Masks for Clear and Glowing Skin

While there are tons of face masks out there that claim to help combat acne, I personally have had the best results making DIY face masks at home. Not only are making face masks at home cheap, but you know exactly what you are putting onto your skin. The face masks I am mentioning below have been very beneficial for my acne and have kept my skin looking clear and fresh!

Turmeric, yogurt, and lemon face mask

This is my favorite mask to use if my skin is looking dull and tired. I recommend using this mask

2-3 times a week for the best results. Turmeric has so many benefits helps with acne, inflammation, and skin brightening. Yogurt contains lactic acid which helps dissolve dead skin cells and exfoliate the skin while lemon helps with skin brightening. This mask is super easy to make and you can buy all of the ingredients at the grocery store.

You will need:

1 tablespoon of plain yogurt

¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder

Half of a lemon

Honey (optional for dry skin)

Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl and apply to your face. Leave on for about 15-20 minutes then rinse off with warm water. Be careful though turmeric tends to be very messy and can stain easily! If your skin still looks yellow after washing it off you can use some coconut oil on a cotton swab and it will take the yellow right off.  

Banana, honey, and oatmeal face mask

This mask is great for combination skin, as it helps balance oiliness and dryness. This mask helps to hydrate, gently exfoliate, and moisturize your skin. Banana helps to hydrate and moisturize the skin while honey contains antiseptic and antibacterial properties which help with inflammation. Oatmeal will naturally soak up excess oil from the skin’s surface and deep within pores. This mask is also very simple and cheap to make and smells amazing too!

You will need:

½ ripe banana

tablespoon raw organic honey

1-2 teaspoons colloidal oatmeal

In a mixing bowl, mash the banana until it has a soft and mushy consistency. Then stir in the honey and oatmeal to thicken up the paste. Apply to a clean face and leave on for about 15-20 minutes then rinse off with warm water.  

I hope you enjoy these two natural DIY face masks for the clear and glowing skin! I would always recommend doing a test patch first to make sure you don’t have an adverse reaction to the ingredients.
