I've gone through various online lists, and curated from personal experience, to gather what I believe are the five most beneficial uses for apple cider vinegar, with real science backing them up! Apple cider vinegar not only balances your skins pH levels for healthy, glowing skin, but it also gently exfoliates by removing dead skin and toxins. It is ideal for those who suffer with skin conditions such as acne or scarring because the lactic and malic acids in the apple cider vinegar work to restore the acid mantle and draw out toxins from the skin.
How to: You can create your own DIY facial toner by mixing ¼ witch hazel, ¼ apple cider vinegar, ½ water, and about 4-5 drops of tea tree oil. Witch hazel will reduce inflammation and soothe irritation while tea tree oil will fight off and prevent new acne from forming due to its antibacterial properties.

Apple cider vinegar is a powerhouse when it comes to digestion. It helps with bloat, intestinal inflammation, and delays the emptying of the stomach; all allowing for increased nutrient absorption. Maintaining the delicate balance of good and bad bacteria in your gut is optimal for keeping your digestive system healthy.
How to: Drinking a warm glass of water with 1-3 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and 2 teaspoons of freshly juiced ginger will give your digestion the kick start it needs (plus it tastes great!). Be wary- Apple cider vinegar is very acidic with a Ph of 3.075, anything under a 5.5 can damage enamel and lead to tooth erosion.
How to: The safest way to use Apple cider vinegar is to dilute it in a glass of warm water and use as a mouthwash for about 20 seconds. After rinsing wait about 20-30 minutes before brushing your teeth as the acidity will make your teeth extremely sensitive and vulnerable to damage. And don’t forget, be sure to use the concoction sparingly- as little as once a week will show noticeable improvement without causing any unwanted tooth damage.

Using Apple cider vinegar as a hair rinse helps to restore the ph balance of the scalp and the shaft of the hair, allowing for optimal hair growth. ACV also works to seal damaged hair cuticles, giving the hair a smooth, shiny appearance while protecting from moisture loss.
How to: To make your own rinse simply combine 2-4 tablespoons of ACV, 16 oz of water, and 1-2 drops of desired essential oils in a plastic squeeze bottle. After shampooing and rinsing your hair, use the Apple cider vinegar rinse by pouring it on your entire scalp. Let it sit on your hair for about 2 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Supplementing apple cider vinegar as a pre-workout can help with energy production and ensure pain-free exercise. This occurs because apples are a natural pH balancer and have an alkaline effect on the body, riding your system of any excess acids in the muscles. Our Ph is a natural monitor of carbon dioxide and plays a huge role in oxygenating your body during exercise.
For use as a pre-workout simply mix a full glass of water with 1-3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Remember to be sure to dilute the apple cider vinegar, it is extremely acidic and if left undiluted it can cause more harm than good!
