How To Moisturize For Oily Skin
Oily skin is caused by excessive release of Sebum by the skin's sebaceous gland, and while this isn't necessarily a bad thing, looking for the perfect moisturizer for your skin can be somewhat of a chore. Remember that the effects of a certain skin product varies on the skin type, some may work really well on others but it may cause another to breakout.
If you have an oily skin, getting rid of the sebum or using products that dry out your face is NOT the solution. Truth is, you need these oils to protect your skin from dirt and bacteria and it stops you from aging quickly.
So here are a two pointers you need to take note of in looking for the perfect moisturizer:
Products that soften the skin are called occlusives and emolients, what they do is seal in moisture and prevent it from escaping, these include petroleum jelly, parafin, and collagen. These products are good if your skin type leans more towards the dry side, because of the high fat content in the emolients but people with a more oily skin should devoid from using these because they trap unnecessary oils and cause blemishes.
this is one of nature's gifts to us human beings, seriously, if you ddo not have one on your stock pile I suggest you go grab one now, it's not only good for breakouts but when you just want to get rid of nasty spots, dirt, blackheads etc.. on your face! it works like an astringent, but don't use it more than twice in a day because your skin could get dry.
lightweight/ non comedogenic products are your best friend! these are oil-free products that won't clog your pores. some lightweight moisturizers contain talc which lessens the shine on the face caused by the oil.
looking for these products shouldn't be hard because you can easily find it at the back of the product in the ingredients section.
