A Basic Intro Into MicroSkin Rolling-By M Paltrow
How does micro skin rolling work?
Micro skin rolling is a process of the skin stimulating and repairing itself. Each roller has around an average of 500 micro bristles which create tiny punctures in the skin. Immediately, the skin reacts as if you have an injury (for example you scrape or cut your finger) and starts to rebuild collagen and elastin fibers.
Could micro skin rolling help my specific skin concern?
Dermarolling Treats Everything From -
1.Post-acne marks/scars (old or new)
2.Wrinkles or loose skin
6.Uneven skin texture or large pores.
Are there certain people who can't microneedle?
Everyone who has any of the skin concerns (wrinkles, cellulite, stretch marks, scarring etc.) could microneedle! No matter the age or sex.
However it’s not recommend for those who have -
1.Have used Accutane within the past 3 months.
2.Have open wounds or cuts on the skin. (It’s best to avoid rolling on active acne to prevent further scarring)
3. Have history of keloid or hyperthrophic scars/poor wound healing
Is there anything I can do to help the process?
Since the recommended rolling time is every other week -depending on the size of your roller - there are a few things to help your skin's repairing process.
1. Moisturizing and Protecting The Skin -
Make sure everyday you're applying a moisturizer and sunscreen to the skin, especially if you'll be doing outdoor activities. After a microneedling session, your skin is weak and vulnerable, you need to make sure it's protected against the harsh sun, and doesn't have to struggle for moisture. Keeping the skin hydrated at all times is very important.
2. Continue to use your serums -
Usually after rolling, most people use either a Hyaluronic Acid or Vitamin C serum to brighten pigmentation and help the skin produce collagen faster. But, just because you aren't rolling doesn't mean you should stop using these serums. Using your serums in between rolling will help promote collagen growth, so your skin heals and creates visible results faster!
3. Stay healthy -
Of course, regular exercise, a good diet and your daily water consumption is the best thing your skin could ever ask for, keeping up these things will help not only your overall health but of course your skin's complexion.
How many times will I have to roll to see results?
The typical time most consumers say they see results in is about 6 months, which depending on how often could be anywhere between 6-12 treatments. It all depends on the size of your needles and how often you decide to roll.
What will I look like afterwards? Can I wear makeup? It is not recommend to wear makeup for at least 24 hours, so be sure to roll on a day where you plan to keep inside. Your skin should look quite red and possibly a little sore to the touch. You might also have slight spot bleeding, but nothing more. These effects should wear off within 24-48 hours after rolling. X
