It’s the new age. With our fast paced multitasking lives we try to squeeze the most out of every moment, dollar, and product- especially when your overall beauty routine starts to accumulate an abundance of expensive serums, masks, mascaras, and lotions. So, it should come as no surprise that all in one products have been making a splash in a major way this year. Popular among penny pinchers and simplistic loving souls alike, all in one products hold high promises to fulfill all your beauty loving needs in one. My facial serums, oils, and lotions are all handpicked for their specific function and extremely precious to me; I’d never waste a drop of them on my body let alone my hair! But yet here we are, testing out this brand new all in one product BUT- I love Cocokind so much I have no doubt in my mind that the Golden Elixir rivals the top serums on the market. Mildly scented with geranium and sweet orange oil, the lightweight elixir absorbs quickly and leaves skin rejuvenated¨
Ingredients: Organic Sacha Inchi Oil, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Geranium Oil, Organic Sweet Orange Oil”
a deeper look at the ingredients
Cocokind continues to keep it simple with just four organic ingredients, with Sancha Inchi being the real key player here.
+Organic Sancha Inchi Oil: Helps to restore moisture balance, great for dry skin as well as balancing oily skin. Sancha Inchi soothes, moisturizes, and rejuvenates making it perfect for anti aging and sensitive skin. The rich antioxidants in Sancha Inchi help to protect your skin from environmental stressors
+Organic Sunflower Oil: Sunflower Oil is known for enhancing hair growth when applied to the scalp and nourishing dry skin. It has also been found to be effective against acne, eczema, inflammation, redness, and general irritation of the skin. Due to its high vitamin E content, sunflower oil helps to improve the overall appearance and health of your skin by fading scars, preventing new scarring, and smoothing existing wrinkles.
+Organic Geranium Oil: Originally used by Egyptians in their daily beauty routine for glowing, flawless skin, geranium Oil alleviates anxiety, balances hormones, reduces acne, and helps inflammation! Geranium Oil is highly therapeutic, known to uplift your mood, lessen fatigue, and support emotional clarity (being an antidepressant).
+Organic Sweet Orange Oil: Sweet orange oil is anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, making it ideal for hair and skin health. It’s also an antidepressant known to have sedative effects for alleviating anxiety, anger, and depression. It’s great for acne, as it’s antibacterial properties prevent bacterial infection and it actively reduces inflammation, irritation, and pain.
the packaging
In line with the rest of their products, the Sancha Inchi Oil comes in a simplistic see through glass bottle with the Cocokind paper label wrapped around the container. The logo and the oil are close in an amber yellow color, making a monochromatic statement as their products often do.
The difference in comparison to the toners and other serums? This bottle is HUGE. It’s a whopping 4 fluid ounces- while their other serums and oils (like chia oil for example) are 1 fluid ounce for $15.49, the Golden Elixir rings in at $24.99 USD- that’s a bargain. Even using this bottle on my body, hair, and face I fully expect it to last at least six months.
my thoughts on the golden elixir
While it claims to be applicable in three ways, I decided to break down my full review here on each individual use: hair, body, and face.
For Hair: Okay so I tried it two ways, while my hair was damp and then on a separate occasion when it was completely dry. The first time I used the oil on my damp hair and blow dried the results were amazing. My hair was shiny, healthy, and tangle free (which tends to be a huge problem for me since my hair is practically down to my hips). It looked so incredible full of life, I was loving it. I actually got a few compliments on my hair that day, and the day following; so you know it was looking fleeky.
However, trying it on dry hair is a whole other story. Just don’t. I tried one pump on the ends after my hair had been styled and straightened and it immediately turned into a greasy clumps of hair sticking together mess. I actually had to rewash my hair, it was not a good look. So in all, this product really does depending on the time you use it. For best results towel dry your hair first, apply it immediately after, then blow dry.
For Body: Being a skincare addict you’d think that I have it all figured out when it comes to body moisturizers, but really my specialty is (face) skincare. I may have a 20 step weekly skincare routine, but I don’t let a single moisturizer touch my body and typically use pure Castile soap when cleansing. You could say I’m pretty clueless. This dry, cold winter has been especially hard on my skin but luckily using this oil has made it easier to quit ignoring the dryness.
While I’m using it in my hair after the shower it’s easy to just use it everywhere else as well, my body, and my face! After just a few uses I noticed a few dry skin bumps on my chest completely disappeared! It’s lightweight and absorbs quickly compared to other lotions without leaving a greasy residue. Even though it’s oil, it really just leaves your skin radiant, hydrated, and soft.
For Face: Yes! Just yes. I’m not used to sharing skincare and body products so it was a little weird to me at first BUT in the end it was completely worth it. Overnight using this oil I saw my complexion become completely calm, with all redness, splotchiness, and dry skin issues disappearing right before my eyes. Even my cystic acne seemed to shrink in size! I’ve continued using this oil all over my face as a moisturizer or as a spot treatment almost every day since I’ve bought it. I’ve witnessed consistent results too, with my acne rapidly decreasing in size and severity. It’s definitely under-hyped as it’s one of the only products that truly helps my skin. I can’t wait until word gets out about this magical all in one product!
