Eat or Not Eat Your Acne Away

Most people believe acne is hormonal and don't think much about how else they can have it. Food actually has a large impact on people's acne and in some cases, may be the reason why they are breaking out so much. Due to a poor diet, not only does your body suffer but also your skin.  

Food to stay away from:

  • Milk
Even though you always hear how good it is for you, the hormones found in dairy milk may cause some people to break out. Some substitute for dairy milk is almond milk, coconut milk, and or rice milk.
  •  Sugar
Your sweet tooth can be the biggest factor for you troubled skin. Sugar is found to cause breakout due to its pro-inflammatory. To satisfy your sweet tooth, try eating fruits and if that's not sweet enough you can add a small amount of honey to them. This will help you keep your hands out of the candy jar.
  • Coffee
If you are already having breakouts, coffee makes them more inflamed because of cortisol found in coffee beans. A smart and healthy alternative is drinking tea. Tea, especially green tea, has bonus benefits such as helping with losing weight and lower cholesterol.
  • Bread
Any high glycemic foods can cause acne. Bread is one of the main food since it is commonly eaten every day. Instead of having a sandwich, roll your meat and cheese together to create a small sandwich wrap. This helps you avoid eating bread and your face will thank you.

 

Foods that actually help with acne: 

  • Green Tea

Besides all the health benefits, green tea also has an anti-inflammatory effect that causes breakouts to calm down and get give of the redness. Green tea is great at detoxifying the body which will overall help clear your acne. A morning cup of green tea is a perfect way to start your day.

  • Water

Water one of the best way to clear skin and it is practically free! Water helps clear and flush out all the bad toxins in your system. It is recommended to drink eight glasses of water every day. If you do this, your skin will get significantly healthier. Please note that if you are exercising you should be drinking even more than eight glasses.

  • Broccoli

Broccoli contains vitamin E, vitamin A, and omega 3 fatty acids. Vitamin E is a basic antioxidant that helps people keep their youthful look by reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Vitamin A helps in skin reproduction and helps repair open blemishes and scars. Omega 3 fatty acids take care of the inflammation in the skin and create a smooth clear surface.
