Have you guys heard of the famous 10-step Korean Skincare Routine? Some of you would probably have heard of it and some of you may not have heard of it yet. For those of you who are hearing for the first time, it's basically just like your normal skincare routine but with added steps and more skincare products. (Don't let that scare you away)
Now, I know that it already sounds a little overwhelming but note that it's not about the amount of steps that you need to do but finding the right products for your skin. Some people can have as little as 5-steps in their routine whereas some people can have as many as 20-steps in their skincare routine. But the most important part is knowing what your skin needs and finding the right product for your skin.
I was first introduced to this routine when I was having a really bad breakout and it made me decide to put together my own skincare routine. With that, I currently have a routine that consists of 7-steps for my day and night routine while occasionally adding in a sheet mask or an exfoliation step whenever I'm free.
To me, I think that the most essential part of my skincare routine would have to be the double cleansing step. It is now, a habit of mine to double cleanse my face every night in order to make sure that my skin would be free from all the dirt and grime that I get throughout the day.
If that's not enough, I've recently been hearing about the triple cleanse that's been going around in Korea. Yes, the TRIPLE cleanse! Which in this case, is where you'll incorporate a cleansing tissue into your routine. So, to make it easier, it's cleansing tissue ⇢ oil-based cleanser ⇢ water-based cleanser and then the rest of your routine.
After being introduced to the Korean skincare routine and creating my own, I've grown to love and enjoy my night care routine. It feels more like a relaxing down time than a chore with all the cute sheet masks as well as all the products with pretty packaging that you'll have all over your vanity. Nonetheless, taking care of your skin should never feel like a chore. It's actually really fun and I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family!
