Valentine's Day Inspired Skincare

By: Ashton

Valentines Day is upon us! Time to bring out the chocolates and other various heart-shaped foods. Valentine's day is the day when we all like to get dolled up and go out with friends or a significant other and just enjoy the ~love~.

Everyone knows that we like to pamper ourselves during this holiday so I thought it would be fun to tell you guys some of my favorite DIY Valentines Day inspired skincare products. These products are super easy to make and they use simple ingredients that are also good for your skin!

  • Rose water

Rose water is the mother of all hydrating mists. It can be used as a toner, makeup setter, or even just spray it on your face for a relaxing spritz. I like to mix rose essential oil with water and put it into a spray bottle. For me, the scent of rose is heavenly, but if you’re not a fan of floral smells you can make it with other essential oils too.

  • Pink clay mask

The pink clay mask is a favorite among those who suffer from an oily and acne-prone skin. The clay helps absorb excess oil and it leaves your face feeling silky soft! You can apply the pink clay as it is or mix it with different essential oils or even your rose water.

  • Lavender rose lip scrub

During the winter most of us suffer from chapped lips—and that's not cute especially if you’re hoping to do some kissing this Valentines Day! This lip scrub made with sugar and lavender and rose essential oils is not too harsh on my sensitive lips. Another pro about a natural lip scrub is that it provides easy cleanup because you can just lick it off!

  • Rosehip almond oil

Rosehip oil is like the ultimate facial serum. Not only does it hydrate your skin and reduce signs of aging, but it can also be used to treat acne! I like to use rosehip oil as it is or mix it with almond oil for an even more powerful moisturizing effect. I also like to also add a few drops to my bath for a luxurious feel and super soft skin.

  • Coconut oil rose lip balm

After scrubbing all the dead skin away from my chapped lips, I like to use an extra moisturizing lip balm to soften them. Coconut oil is my favorite moisturizer and adding rose essential oil adds the perfect Valentines Day touch.

So grab your special someone or your gal pals and spend your Valentines Day relaxing and treating yourselves!
