Healthy Eating for Acne Skin

Having a good and healthy diet is critical for acne-prone people. This is because many acne problems are caused by hormones. By having a good diet, we can balance our hormones which in turns helps in improving our skin conditions. Moreover, some foods are anti-inflammatory, helping to lessen inflammation which is commonly associated with acne. Furthermore, healthy eating for acne skin may help us in shedding a few pounds, aiding healthy weight loss. A healthy diet consists of vegetables, fruits, and meat in certain portions.

Vegetables to eat in a healthy diet:

  • Broccoli

    Broccoli is a good source of vitamin C. Vitamin C has a good reputation in the skin industry. Vitamin C helps in evening out your skin tone, shielding skin from the visible impacts of pollution. Also, Vitamin C plays an important role in collagen synthesis which is essential for skin renewal and elasticity of the skin.

    • Avocado

Furthermore, Vitamin C is also beneficial in fading acne scars which is common after curing acne. Moreover, the monounsaturated fats like oleic acid present in avocado nourish and moisturize the skin. Avocado is also known for Its anti-inflammatory properties. These properties include relief from swelling, redness, and pain. In addition, replacing the bad fats with the good fats from avocado can promote a healthy body system without depriving yourself of consuming fats.

      Meat to eat in a healthy diet:

      • Fish

        Meat is known for wrecking hormones in our body. However, meat is still an essential in our meals. Hence, it is important to eat good meat that is beneficial for the acne skin. Fishes have plenty Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids from oily fish can reduce inflammation. By reducing inflammation, we may be less prone to an acne break-out. Furthermore, fishes have proteins that provide us with amino acids. These amino acids are essential for cell renewal in our skins.  They can also aid in the production of collagen and elastin. This can improve the texture and tone of our skins.

        Alternatives: Eggs which are also high in protein and nuts
