NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer Product Review

As it became increasingly clear that my current foundation was not full coverage enough to cover all of my acne, I began frantically searching for a concealer. I needed something that was full coverage, wouldn’t break me out and wasn’t shiny (as I have oily skin). As I tore through the Sephora website, I stumbled across the new NARS concealer. The words “matte” and “complete” were enough to convince me to buy it, despite how uneasy I felt about buying just .21 ounces of it for thirty dollars. Below is my NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer product review.

First Impression

The concealer is stored in a compact glass container complete with a sturdy plastic cap. It feels to be a much higher quality than drugstore concealers. On first application, I was surprised by what a small amount I needed to cover my hyperpigmentation. This concealer is definitely full coverage, and a little goes a long way. I have had this concealer for two months (using it almost daily), and I haven’t used it up halfway yet. To put on this concealer, I found that a concealer brush works best to blend it into any acne spots that need extra coverage. For my under eyes, it’s easiest to use my fingers to apply the concealer to hide any darkness. Something that I like about this concealer is that it can be used to blur out large pores or as a base for eye shadow.

Experience

I have very oily skin, so I was afraid that a matte concealer would smudge off of my face or cake. However, after my first day of wearing this concealer, it immediately became a favorite. The spots that I concealed didn’t smudge or crease, and it didn’t dry out my skin. I was surprised by how, at the end of a long day, the concealer remained matte and how it hadn’t budged from where I applied it. On top of all this, I’ve been wearing this concealer for weeks, and my skin hasn’t shown any signs of breaking out where I put it on.

Verdict

All in all, based on my NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer product review and experience, this is a great option for people with oily skin or for people with acne-prone skin. It is definitely worth the money, as it doesn’t run out quickly and it provides effortless full coverage wherever it may be needed. This product is a definite repurchase for me, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great quality concealer.
