I love creating concoctions straight from my refrigerator. It gives me total and complete control over what I put on my face, and if anything goes wrong, hey, there’s no one to blame but myself. And you’ll feel like an evil scientist with all the mixing! Another reason why I love creating my own masks is that it’s really affordable! Have you more than a dozen eggs? Make them into a mask! Can’t finish your bag of oats? Another ingredient for a mask! Literally, anything from your cupboard can become your next favorite facemask!
I love my turmeric and lemon mask as of the moment. The combination of the turmeric and the lemon juice helped lighten up my acne scars. Keep in mind that this mask could cause hyperpigmentation when left on the skin for a long period. My second favorite mask is the egg white and tissue mask. This mask helps remove my blackheads.
These at home products are also good gift ideas to your friends who are avid facemask collectors! You just brew them a jar full, and they can store it in their refrigerator for a week or two! Not only are they getting a cool present from you, but you’re also helping them out taking care of their skin!

We all know lemon is for whitening, which is really good if you are dealing with acne scars, but leaving the on your face too long can also cause hyperpigmentation. A turmeric face mask is great if you are currently dealing with any kind of inflammation, but be careful when applying on the face and not get any in the eyes, seeing that turmeric is a spice. Yikes! Oatmeal, on the other hand, I’d really like to say be careful. My mom left her oatmeal mask on her face a bit too long resulting in some discoloration.
