With so many acne products out there and new ones popping up every month, you might feel a little overwhelmed on how to incorporate them into your daily skincare routine. Don't worry, here is a complete guide on how and when to use certain skincare products for all different skin types and where Banish products can be incorporated in your acne routine.
Using a gentle cleanser, apply a small amount and massage into face in circular motions. You may use a cotton ball, pad, or washcloth to help you clean the dirt, oil, and makeup off your face. If you wear makeup, sunscreen during the day ( which you should!) or if you have oily skin, a second cleanse is highly recommended. We recommend a non foaming or sulfate free cleanser which should not cause dehydrated skin for the first cleanse, and a gentle cleanser for the second cleanse.
How Often: Cleanse twice a day total, once in the morning and night. Use a gentle makeup remover before cleansing or double cleanse if needed.

The Banish Oil is great for nourishing skin because it's concentrated with natural ingredients that skin will absorb quickly and made with a base of vegetable glycerin which acts as a humectant to dry moisture into the skin. The Banish Oil is a vitamin c serum ideal for scarring, hyperpigmentation, and dark spots.
For people with oilier skin, the Vitamin C Creme is recommended instead since it is a more lightweight formula.
How Often:Apply once per day. Up to twice per day.

The fighter gel is a water based moisturizer with ingredients that are great for fighting inflammation, and increasing collagen in skin. The lightweight and water gel based formula won't cause clogged pores or feel too heavy for oilier or combo skin.
Sunscreen should be the last step because it acts like a shield for your skin and active ingredients won't be absorbed as well if applied after sunscreen. Sunscreen is important because it protects your skin from damaging UV rays which lead to wrinkles and collagen depletion. Sun exposure can also cause hyperpigmentation and make it harder to fade dark spots.
How Often: Use a teaspoon amount of sunscreen for face and massage in 15 minutes before going out into the sun. Also add sunscreen to body too if needed. Pick a sunscreen with at least SPF 30. Some sunscreens will also have a PA+ rating, the higher the PA+ the better.
It's important to take extra steps to nourish and unclog skin especially for people who have acne, blackheads, whiteheads, or closed comedones. A clay masque or activated charcoal masque really helps deep clean since these ingredients attract dirt, oil, and other impurities to the surface of skin and it all gets washed away when you remove the mask. Keeping your pores clean regularly can also shrink the appearance of pores! Before using a mask, make sure your skin is freshly cleansed first.
How Often: 1-2 times per week
Recommendations: Activated Charcoal and Clay Masque

Exfoliating is great for eliminating old skin cells, getting rid of blackheads, preventing acne, fading acne scars quicker, and renewing your overall skin so that your skin will be smoother, softer and brighter. Use a physical exfoliator only if you don't have active breakouts since the abrasive nature may irritate acne. Exfoliate with a product containing alpha hydroxy acids for skin with active acne for best results. We recommend the Pumpkin Enzyme Masque since it's natural and non abrasive, but it gets the job done! You may want to exfoliate a day or two before or after the Banisher instead of right before using the Banisher if you have sensitive skin.
How Often: 1-2 times a week, up to 3 if needed
Pumpkin Enzyme Masque - $39 USD
Once every 2 weeks, you can use the Banisher on acne scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, or other problem areas to reduce the appearance of them. Apply the Banish Oil or Banish Vitamin C Creme after the session. The banisher increases the effectiveness of skin care products greatly and it also stimulates your skin to repair itself to minimize the appearance acne scars.
Avoid using the Banisher over active acne since that could spread bacteria and do not use if if you are currently on Accutane.
How Often: Once every week.
After using the Banisher, Skin may temporarily be a little irritated and you may notice minor flaking as the old layer of skin is shedding off to give way for new skin. This may cause some dryness, so keep a hydrating vitamin c mist like the Vitamin C Beauty Elixir which can be used over makeup to keep skin from drying out.
How Often: As Often as Needed
